Compared to the US, disruption in the UK insurance industry is lagging.  And yet UK InsurTech saw investment inflows rocket almost 3,000% in 2017, well ahead of European neighbours. Deloitte’s David Rush will convene a panel of insurance technology experts to explore where InsurTech is making a real difference, which InsurTech products are solving real client problems, where we are seeing ROI in InsurTech and what challenges the industry is facing that technology can solve.

Cyber Security Workshop

Deloitte’s Stephen Bonner will run an interactive cyber attack simulation where participants will experience an attack before being guided through appropriate responses and outcomes. Deloitte will host speakers and industry leaders in their exclusive VIP lounge space. The lounge will be available across the two days of the summit and feature places to network, grab a refreshment and recharge bodies and devices.

Louise Brett

FinTech leader (UK and North West Europe)

Louise leads the FinTech response for Deloitte in the UK and across North West Europe, working across the ecosystem with Financial Services clients, government bodies, regulators, advisors and the broader FinTech community. Formerly a banker, she is a practical strategist with broad experience in leading some of Deloitte’s most high profile engagements and sits on the board of Deloitte’s EMEA FinTech Accelerator.


Michael Tang

Financial Services Digital Transformation & Innovation leader (Global)

Michael recently returned to Canada after spending five years in the Asia Pacific Region. He began his career with Deloitte in 1997 focused on technology and architecture. He has since worked internationally with global clients in Australia, Canada, Japan, the United States, United Kingdom and South America. Currently, he balances his Global role with his role as a senior advisor to Deloitte’s largest banking and insurance clients. He works with Financial Services Institutions, corporations and executives globally in the areas of technology and business strategy, with particular expertise in delivering strategy and enterprise transformations in digital, innovation, growth strategy, cost reduction and business and IT strategy alignment.


Michel de la Bellière

FinTech Accelerator leader (EMEA) and Insurance leader (France)

Michel is the EMEA Solvency II Lead and Deloitte France’s Insurance Leader. He has more than 18 years of experience in Europe and in the US. He has advised some of the leading European insurers on the implementation and impacts of Pillar 2 and Pillar 3 of Solvency II. He has also assisted in other transforming projects, in the fields of organisation, mergers, business planning and information systems definition. His clients span life, non-life, health insurance and brokerage.


Stephen Marshall

Financial Services Technology leader (UK)

Stephen has over 20 years’ experience in advisory and delivery programmes, and has worked on a broad spectrum of challenges with his many clients – from IT sourcing and cost reduction, organisation design and IT strategy, through to the delivery of large, complex business transformation programmes.


David Rush

Insurance leader (UK and North West Europe)

David joined Deloitte in London from the firm’s Sydney office in 1990 and has since served as lead audit partner for many of Deloitte’s larger and listed client relationships. He also has considerable experience in assisting clients on mergers and acquisitions and regulatory issues.


Gurpreet Johal

Artificial Intelligence leader (UK)

Gurpreet leads Deloitte’s Actuarial and Advanced Analytics Practice. He is a partner in Deloitte’s financial services group, specialising in (re)insurance and telematics. He has extensive global experience – predominantly US, Bermuda, UK and Europe. Gurpreet has helped global clients in core actuarial, merger and acquisitions, financial planning and analysis, analytics, telematics, and other advisory issues such as restructuring, Part VIIs, strategic reviews of business units and markets.


Joe Guastella

Financial Services Consulting leader (Global)

Joe is a member of Deloitte’s Global Financial Services executive team and responsible for service delivery in areas of strategy, operations, human capital, technology and risk services. He has more than 25 years’ experience guiding financial services execs in the design of strategic change management and large scale transformations. Prior to his global and US leadership roles, Joe led Deloitte’s Asia Pacific Insurance Consulting practice


Nigel Walsh

InsurTech expert and co-host of InsurTech Insider with 11:FS

Nigel is a partner in Deloitte’s Financial Services technology practice with a background in end to end technology transformation, digital transformation and InsurTech – key enablers in enabling insurers on the journey to become true digital insurers. Prior to this, Nigel led the UK Insurance business for Capgemini. Nigel has advised UK and European Insurance companies on major systems replacements and technology transformation projects helping to improve the customer and broker experience. Nigel is one of the leading members of the InsurTech global movement and has been a mentor for many start-ups, including at the StartupBootcamp InsurTech programme.
