Founder and CEO, Pockit
Virraj Jatania founded Pockit in 2013, with a view to using the power of technology to build a financially-inclusive banking platform, and driven by a deep conviction that financial exclusion both exacerbates poverty and inhibits social mobility. Today, Pockit is meeting the daily banking needs of over 200,000 customers and has recently launched a number of new features, including low-cost International Transfers.
Virraj is a second-generation entrepreneur who previously worked with his family’s company, The Lornamead Group – a portfolio of multinational personal care product businesses – which successfully exited for $500m in 2012.
